IKO Roofing Company in Houston: What to Know First

We repair and replace IKO roofing systems across Houston as an independent IKO service provider, not a manufacturer-authorized dealer. Most IKO shingle repairs run between $350 and $900, and a full IKO reroof on a typical Houston single-story home lands between $9,500 and $16,000 depending on square footage and decking condition. You’ll know the price before we touch the roof. This page is for Houston homeowners with IKO shingles who’ve noticed granule loss, curling edges, or leaks and want a straight answer on what’s wrong and what it costs. Call (254) 566-3573 and we’ll walk the roof with you.

How IKO Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

  • IKO Cambridge granule loss in Houston’s heat. The Cambridge line uses a laminated fiberglass mat that holds up well, but Houston’s UV intensity plus the humidity cycle causes surface granules to release early on south-facing slopes. You’ll see it as bare patches that reflect light differently. We fix this by replacing affected courses with matching Cambridge shingles before the mat degrades, which prevents leaks from starting in the first place.
  • IKO Nordic sealant strip separation. Nordic is a heavier architectural shingle with a thermal sealant strip that occasionally fails in Houston’s wet-dry alternation. When the strip doesn’t bond, wind lift gets under the tabs. We see lifted tabs most often on homes in Bellaire and Westbury after spring storm season. Our fix is mechanical fastening plus fresh sealant, not just pressing the shingle back down.
  • IKO Marathon ridge cap cracking. The Marathon ridge cap takes direct sun and expands at a different rate than the field shingles beneath it. In Houston, that differential movement cracks the cap at the nail line, and water follows the crack into the ridge vent. We repin and seal, and if the cracking is wide, we replace the cap course rather than caulk over it.
  • Flashing failures at IKO transitions. Most IKO roofs in Houston don’t leak because of the shingle itself. They leak where the shingle meets a chimney, a vent pipe, or a valley. The original flashing corrodes, the sealant dries out, and water runs behind the IKO underlayment. We strip that section, install new flashing, and retie the IKO courses so the laps shed water the way they’re designed to.
  • Decking rot under IKO roofs that weren’t ventilated properly. Houston attics run hot. When an IKO roof is installed without adequate intake and exhaust ventilation, heat buildup bakes the back of the decking, causing it to delaminate. We find this most often in Meyerland homes built in the 1970s. The fix isn’t a shingle patch. It’s replacing the rotted decking sections and correcting the ventilation so the new IKO shingles don’t face the same heat load.

Our IKO Roofing Company Process

  1. 1
You call, a live person answers. We schedule a walk with a written window. No voicemail tag, no “sometime Thursday.”
  2. 2
We walk the roof and look at how your IKO system was originally installed. Nailing pattern, underlayment type, valley treatment, ventilation. The install matters as much as the shingle.
  3. 3
We explain what we found in plain English and hand you a written price. Parts, labor, decking if needed. That price doesn’t change unless we open the roof and find rot nobody could see from above, and even then we stop and show you before adding a dollar.
  4. 4
We make the repair using IKO-matched materials where warranty matters, or quality aftermarket where it doesn’t. If the shingle is under manufacturer warranty, we use IKO. If it’s out of warranty, we use the right product for the Houston climate, not a house brand.
  5. 5
We test the repair, clean the site, and hand you the written guarantee before we leave. Not mailed later. In your hand.
  6. 6
If that repair fails inside the guarantee period, we return at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise. It’s written on the same page as the price.

What IKO Roofing Company Costs in Houston

Job Type Typical Houston Range
Minor IKO shingle repair (loose tabs, small granule patch) $350 – $600
Flashing replacement at chimney or vent $450 – $900
Ridge cap repair or replacement $500 – $1,100
Decking repair with shingle replacement (rot found) $1,200 – $2,800
Full IKO reroof, single-story Houston home $9,500 – $16,000

Price moves with roof pitch, number of stories, decking condition, and whether the original underlayment is still intact. A steep roof costs more to work safely. A roof with rotted decking costs more because the decking gets replaced before the new IKO shingles go down. Call (254) 566-3573 and we’ll give you a real number for your roof, not a phone estimate pulled from someone else’s job.

Why Houston Homeowners Call Tilehurst Roofing Houston for IKO Work

Because we answer the phone. Because the background-checked technician who knocks on your door is the same one who climbs your roof, not a subcontracted crew he met that morning. Because we name all seven manufacturer options when you’re replacing a roof: GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral. If IKO is what your home had and what you want, we install IKO. If an Owens Corning or GAF product fits your Houston exposure better, we’ll tell you and show you why. Greg Holloway walks every job himself and grew up in the trade, learning at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before years of reroof and commercial flat work. The Kingswell Way is simple: say the price before the work, show up in the window we gave, leave the place cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing, come back if it fails. We’ve been doing that since 2000.
