Marcus D. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been on Houston roofs for 14 years, the last six with us. He’s the one who climbs up first on every repair call, walks the whole roof, and comes down with a straight answer about what’s actually going on. His specialty is flashing work. Chimney flashing, wall flashing, pipe boot flashing – the spots where most roof leaks actually start. He’s a GAF Master Elite trained installer and carries CertainTeed and Owens Corning certifications as well. When he’s not on a roof, he’s rebuilding a 1972 Camaro in his garage in Spring Branch and will talk your ear off about it if you let him.

Lena R. – Senior Installer

Lena runs our tear-off and replacement crews, and she’s the reason our job sites stay orderly. Eleven years in residential roofing, eight of them in the Houston market. She’s the detail person. Drip edge alignment, ridge cap ventilation, underlayment laps – the work you’ll never see once the shingles go on but that determines whether the roof lasts 12 years or 30. Lena is certified through GAF and Atlas, and she personally checks every valley and penetration before she calls a job done. She grew up in Pearland, knows half the roofers in this city by first name, and still refuses to let her own crew leave a single nail in a driveway. She bakes, too. Banana bread shows up at the shop every other Tuesday.

Sam T. – Service Coordinator

Sam is the voice on the phone when you call Tilehurst Roofing Houston. He’s been with the Kingswell family of companies for five years and handles scheduling, permits, and the paperwork around our written guarantees. If you want to know when the crew will arrive, what the permit timeline looks like for your neighborhood, or exactly what your written price covers, Sam’s your guy. He worked in construction supply before coming to us, so he knows Houston’s local code requirements and HOA quirks better than most roofers do. He lives in the Energy Corridor with a rescue dog named Shiner and keeps a spreadsheet ranking every barbecue joint within 20 miles of the shop.

Javi M. – Apprentice Installer

Javi’s the youngest on the crew, two years into his roofing apprenticeship, and he’s already passed his GAF installer certification. He works under Lena’s direction on tear-offs and replacements, and he’s earned a reputation for being the guy who volunteers for the hard parts of the job. He’s also our cleanup enforcer. Magnetic nail sweeps, gutter checks, plant protection – Javi takes the “leave it cleaner than we found it” part of The Kingswell Way personally. Before roofing, he did concrete work around Katy and Cypress. That’s where he learned to work in Houston heat, though he’ll tell you a roof deck in July is a different kind of hot entirely.
